Hi, Want to connect A119 mini 2 to cigarette lighter but wondering do i need fuse for that? Want to connect Positive ( + ) and Negative ( - ) from Viofo cable to cigarette lighter wire (+) and (-) via 12v to 5v converter. I will use this to convert from 12 to 5v.

So i cannot connect directly to 12v supply when wiring? cut usb cable and wanted to Connect directly to 12v accessories but no power at all. Do I Need to convert 12V to 5V in order to work?
