There's some cars in both parking lots that are about the same distance from the camera, left parking lot cars are pretty clear and sharp. Right parking lot car is very soft and out of focus looking. Same issue is present on the grass on the right side vs left side.
I'm at 1440p 30fps HDR off.

Some more pictures showing the same issue, if that helps.20230725170118_000749.MP4_snapshot_00.22_[2023.07.25_18.27.08].jpg
3 plates in a row more or less, right most plate is rather blurry while left and center are clearer. Even the ground on that side looks soft/out of focus.

Same thing here, business sign on the right is messed up, left side I can count the bars on the front porch railing.

Any ideas? Defective camera? I can grab the video from the cam of the 3 trucks on the ramp and upload it somewhere if the original is needed.

Is the camera brand new?

The first V3 I purchased had the same issue when I received it (also on the right side). My vendor (CaptureYourAction) replaced it immediately after I sent him some screen shots. I own two V3s and they've been performing perfectly for over three years now. Contact your seller or Viofo.

I can see the slight blur /fuzziness on the right side. Is your dashcam brand new? what firmware is it running? I read in another post about the lens holder warping with heat. this might be happening to you as well. Does this happen with cool temps?

I'm guessing it's probably not a heat issue. Once in awhile a camera can come out of the factory like that.

Brand new, running the current 2.6 FW I believe. Not sure if it does it in cooler temps as I just bought it and we simply haven't had cooler temps yet  I'll follow up with the seller on Amazon which looks to be BlackboxMyCar

I'm a bit stupid here, I don't see the edit button, sorry.
I need to buy a 2nd cam for my other car anyway so if I buy another one I stand a pretty good chance of NOT having the same issue with the 2nd camera, yeah?

It seems that the right side of the camera is out of focus now, please open a ticket here to return it for a replacement: https://support.viofo.com/support/tickets/new

Unrelated question but since I'm here, if the 1080P/60FPS actual 60FPS or is it 'fake' 60FPS? I tried 1080/60 this afternoon coming home and it's very stuttery/jerky.

I'm still working on getting the camera vertical aimed just right and might move it over a little.
Here's the stuttering 1080/60 video from today, it's really apparent when turning. If you view the video at 1/2 or 1/4 speed it's very noticable that it's a regularly timed hitch in the video. I'll check the camera mounting to make sure it's not shaking in the car, but I'm not sure that's the cause. Older car, it doesn't have the smoothest idle but I don't think that would be at play when sweeping around a corner. Either way, this cam is getting RMA'd and the one I bought will be here tomorrow to see that it's not got any issues.

I've also found 30fps to be better.

When I've compared static screenshots from 30 v 60fps, 30 has always been sharper. But, this has been from the older 1.03 firmware.

Regarding blur image on the right side, please try to clean the lens with lens wipe first. Just to rule out that this is caused by something on the right side of lens.

Thanks, I did that when installing and then also after I noticed the issue. The windshield has some chips in it from age and one or two are certainly visible in the video samples I've looked at but show as a slightly white circle. I'm actually really picky about clean haze free glass because it increases glare. I've cleaned the glass inside with Hexane and 50/50 IPA/Distilled water as well as regular glass cleaner, it's clean. On the outside Hexane, 50/50, and a high alkaline degreaser cleaner we use in the shop. Sadly it looks like a hardware issue, possibly the lens assembly isn't sitting flush on the sensor.

So I got the 2nd camera in and installed to my 2nd car and I'm not sure it's got clear focus in the distance, any opinions? I feel like my old Street Guardian 1080P had clearer stills (last photo) but maybe it's my imagination and I'm just being overly critical because I had a problem with my first one.
