I installed my SG9663DR test sample for use as discreet remote side-facing cameras. My personal preference for side-facing dashcams is to use a wide angle lens to increase coverage alongside the car. Thus I decided to swap the original lens for a Mobius 1 C2 Wide Angle Lens.
Both lenses have an M12 thread and 17mm outside diameter. Replacing the lens required opening up the remote camera module (2No screws), removing the PCB from the housing (4No screws), removing some glue securing the lens to the holder, unscrewing the original lens, and finally installing the C2 lens with a locking collar. I focused the lens using the WiFi app live preview, and reviewed short video clips to confirm correct focus.
For comparison and testing, I installed both remote cameras side-by-side in my fixed rear driver's side window. Assuming I am happy with this modification, I will do the same with the second camera and install it on the passenger side.
