The GS8000 DVR was released in 2013 and is becoming quite popular. This camera can record at 1080p @ 30fps and is based on the Ambarella A2S70 processor. Video quality during the day is good but video quality at night is at best average. The GS8000 comes with a g-sensor and GPS. This dash cam is not too large and it comes with a 2.7″ screen.
There is a cheaper Novatek version of this camera for sale as well. The Novatek version has worse video quality and is not recommended.

Known problems
There have been more than average problems noted for this camera. Be aware before purchasing.
Records only for a brief period
Some owners have complained that the camera will record for approximately 30 seconds or a minute than stop recording. This appears to be a problem with how the SD card is formatted. To correct, format the SD card via a computer using Fat32.
GPS issues
Some owners have indicated the GPS does not catch or stops working altogether. A potential fix is to reposition the dash cam on your windshield. You could also remove the GPS antenna from the mount. See the following pictures of a modified mount with the GPS antenna removed from the original mount and glued onto a new mount.
This may not solve the problem since some owners have complained of a completely inoperative GPS unit.
Dead / Unresponsive Camera
There have been a few cases of dead / unresponsive cameras. One potential cause is removing the GPS cable when the camera is powered on (not confirmed). Reflashing the firmware is an alternative option. Note some of the issues may be hardware related which do not have any known resolutions.

Should I purchase?
Many people who have received this camera are quite pleased initially. The biggest issues are the average night time video quality and potential GPS issues that some owners have complained about. However with the growing complaints of reliability problems, we cannot recommend this camera.
