DV688 incomplete recording

I bought the unit from UK ebay as a "new used" item. Had not been used and appeared new.
It appeared to run on a bench and record both channels.
Fitted to bike with DVR under pillion seat.
Front camera channel A connected with long cable.
Rear camera channel B has short cable.
"Photo" trigger on handlebar and GPS unit in front faring. GPS data is recorded on video
60 minute ride last week.
Seems to be incomplete recording from channel A. Channel B is complete.
Stopped recording after 30 minutes on first ride while channel B was full 60 minutes.
Second ride 2 hours recorded one 5 minute channel A video then stopped recording. Channel B OK.
I stopped tor refuel after 60 minutes. After stopping recording restarted for 60 minutes.
Channel B was complete ride.
Difficult to understand where to look for issues. Camera or DVR.

Swap camera A with camera B, and give it a test again!

Did a recording in the garage using external power with Front A and Rear B.
No segments lost.
Swapped over A and B inputs.
No lost segments.

Did a 2 hour ride yesterday Front B Rear A. No lost segments.
Just need a road test with original config and see how it goes.
