I recently upgraded my dash cam from an old Mini805 to a Garmin mini 2, expecting (quite reasonably) that this would be a significant improvement. I'm really quite disappointed in the Garmin. The video quality is not as good as the Mini805, the bluetooth and wifi performance is awful, and it costs a lot more than the old Mini 805.

Bottom line - don't replace your Mini805 with the Garmin mini 2 or you will be very disappointed!

Care to share a sample? Mini 2 records at 1080p and uses the same OV sensor AFAIK. The recording quality should be comparable. The reliability much better on Mini 2.

Looking at the specs and images online I can imagine.

It's listed as 1080 resolution and the main unit is on a ball joint. The worst of both situations.

These days 1440 resolution is quite normal and for me, having had 3 ball joint mount dashcams, never again.
