firmware update failure (power disconnect during update process)

Hi all,

Tried to update firmware.

Unfortunately, I disconnected the camera during update – update process was interrupted.

Since, the camera no longer turns on or responses.
Tried plugging external power (used 2 sources, replaced cables) – the system is dead with no response from the camera after connecting it.
Tried connecting it to my PC – the system is dead (same as above).
Also, my PC doesn’t recognize the camera when connecting it.

Smart ideas for recovering the camera?

Put the update on the card, put the card in the camera, connect the power and wait...

Will it power up without a card inserted?

Why my PC can't detect it?

You may need to reinstall the loader software, if it is not loading firmware.
Contact Viofo support to ask for it, and make sure it is the correct one for the model you have.

Basically the same way as you install the firmware, put it on the memory card, put the card in the camera, turn the power on, wait for plenty of time - maybe 1 minute.
Then delete the loader from the card and put the firmware on instead.

It is not always obvious that the loader is installing or has finished, but it should install anyway, the camera will still not do anything until it has the firmware installed.

you may not see visible indications that the camera updating with the loader.

Thanks.
Copied the loader to the SD.
Inserted the SD into the camera.
Plugged the camera to power.

The lights on the camera turned ON (green light on the POWER and red light on the REC).
Lights are constantly ON (already 3 min.).

it should be complete in under a minute.
try to load the firmware but don't forget to delete the loader file from a card first.

Reinstalled the loader.
After, uploaded the firmware on the SD.

Plugged the SD into the camera, and the camera to external power.
Camera is back to normal.

How many cameras have you broken

If you don't find it in a post then you will need to contact Viofo support, or PM viofo on here. Quite likely there isn't a post since the Pro is fairly new.

Tried to update Firmware on both today... and here I am...

Managed to fix the A119s
Now need to fix the A119 pro
