Hi everybody! I'm interested in the function in the dash cam, with camera notifications that control the passage of red lights, and other notifications such as speed cameras, there may be other camera notifications. I know that there are such devices in some European and Eastern markets. They work together with the GPS and display audio and visual notifications of events that may occur in the direction of travel.
There is no problem to buy such a device in that market and get it in USA. But I don't think it will work properly in the USA.
The second feature that I really need is high-quality night shooting. I heard that it is very good to use a sensor from SONY for night recording.

If anyone can help me with these features, I would be very grateful. I plan to use all over North America

Haven't see any models from popular brands that have the radar feature. Redundancy and overall features wise, you'll be better off buying two separate devices.

Have a look at this Escort m1 dash cam?

sorry, I didn't mean radar detector, I was talking about camera alerts using gps. Something like this when you load POI points into the navigator

You'll still be better off with a separate dash cam and navigation device. As mentioned in my previous reply, haven't seen any from the popular brands. Lots on Aliexpress and the likes but it's going to be a hit & trial of sorts.

Night / low light footage, are suffering in all dashcams, it is a simple limitation in the hardware used.
You can get much better sensors though, but then your 200 USD system will be a +1000 USD system, and dashcams in that price range would probably sell very little so no one make it,,,,,, but they could the hardware is there alright, just not cheap.
So all little detail are out the door at night, even easy to read large letter / numbers EU plates, that only work to some degree at speeds where you might was well walk or bicycle.

Sony sensors are often used in the best low light cameras, ATM the so called "starlight" sensors like the 1080p sensor IMX 291 and the 1440p sensor IMX 335 are much used.

Some brands do offer a speed camera notifications, but these are most often the fixed cameras, the cop with a radar or laser gun you need real time updates on, and no dashcam offer that, some apps do though.
I personally run a app called fart kontrol / speed control, but it is limited to Denmark.
Still flawed as we mainly have mobile speed traps here in Denmark, using vans that move around every few hours, so you can still be the first guy there when it just changed location and have not been reported yet.
Same also go for fixed cameras, not that they move them around but new ones might pop up.

There are dashcams with radar but this is for use when in parking mode, it is not like they can act like a radar detector, that would be illegal in all EU countries i think, same go for laser detectors and laser jammers.

Last year I was visiting my friends in Kazakhstan, and when I was driving in a taxi, I noticed a similar car DVR. It showed the speed of movement and warned about control cameras thanks to the built-in
GPS. The taxi driver said that he was updating the database through a mobile application. I will send you a photo of this device below. If necessary, I will attach a link where you can buy such a device in the east. When I started looking for something similar on Amazon, I was surprised that you can't buy it in USA or Canada. The pictures say something like dash cam warns about different cameras that are in the base of the device. And the database is updated daily.

I think maybe westerners are too lazy to bother submitting locations of speed cameras, or for that matter update the database in the camera.
As i said just having speed displayed as a screen saver on a dashcam are rare, cameras with a speed trap database even more rear

Also keep in mind the cameras with smarter / higher features, they often lack in image quality as a result of that.
Also the fact pretty much none of the major dashcam brands make such a camera say a little i think.

I must admit i always use the speed trap APP on my phone when i do a longer drive, and even if i generally are pretty good at keeping the speed limit.

I do not know of any cams where the US database is well-updated. What many folks do is use "WYZE" and other phone apps for that purpose.

In general, discreet devices tend to do specific jobs better than combined ones. Given the limited processor power of dashcams to get the best video possible is going to use most of those resources, so there's not a lot of space to add something without losing somethi8ng else.
