Mini0801 custom firmwares

Update: I used my own custom firmware 20140308 with removed logo and sounds.

STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!!

If I record something holding the device in my hand it works, if I record while driving 'INVALID FILE'

This getting really annoying. Any ideas what to do @Tobi@s?

- I have tried different power supplies plugged into the mount and the camera, same results.

Video is fine when camera is manually booted and then manually record.

Video is corrupt when plugged into power source, boot up, start recording and then removed from power source, stop recording, turn off.

I can not play the corrupt videos back on the device or on the PC at all. GPS data is all fine but video doesn't work, videos are all around 450mb in size.

I have tried all loop options, no loop, 1 minute, 3 and 5 minutes. Same problem.

WHAT ELSE?

I installed stock 20140308 and the invalid file problem is gone.

I modified the firmware with a7 tool to remove sound and boot logo.

Now device is bricked and DirectUSB won't detect the device, I am using OTG cable. Windows just say USB Device Not Recognised, device manager says Unknown Device.

I tried installing Amberalla Driver by adding legacy software. It install but that didn't do anything, windows and direct USB still don't work.

Thats strange. That flashing screen indicates that the header information are invalid.
I never formatted the SD-card when I flashed a new firmware.

How did you remove start and shutdown sounds?

Could you take a picture of your mini?

You should get a MiniUSB cable with PIN4/5 linked.

I removed start and shutdown sounds by deleting all the text in the .pmc files and then saving them.

Here is a photo of my mini and the cables I am using to connect to DirectUSB.

But when plugged in, it flashes red for 3 seconds, windows makes detect sound and then no lights.

I unplugged and plugged in a few times and then windows found and installed the Amberella Driver.

Found 0 busses, 1 devices changed
bus=0, port=0
Dev#1: 0x4255 (Amba) : 0x0001 (A4 ) : 123456789ABC has 1 configs
State is BOOT
Found 1 AMBA device!

But then it lost connection and I am stuck again.

Seems to be a connection problem then..
Try powering the device when you connected it

What do you mean powering the device? Turn it on to blue before I connect or red?

EDIT: I got it to reconnect by plugging into PC and then restarting Windows but now in DirectUSB get this:
Found 1 AMBA device!
[0] Wait device re-init...
[0] Not found.
BLD execute failed.
[0] Failed!!

Every elf from my page should work

This is as far as I can get every time I try.

I guess the cable is the problem here

Cable is perfect, I just didn't know what I was doing! haha.

When it disconnects I just need to restart device with power button and then DirectUSB detects it again but I am still getting the same error at 'starting devices'

Do you know what's wrong @Tobi@s?

It should automatically switch between the modes without manual powering

I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING!!
Untitled.jpg

I used Direct USB II and this .elf
I renamed it to 2.elf (original name wasn't working) and it worked!!

- Now to reflash a custom firmware.
@Tobi@s could you please make me the firmware with no sound, or boot logo using stock 20140308? http://dc.p-mc.eu/dl/?id=20140308-GPS-1CARD&t=bin Other firmwares caused my corrupt recording issue. I would try myself but I bricked it last time!
