Ended up I did try another card. A 32GB SanDisk Class10 from Walmart. It has worked like a charm on two longer sets (one 5hrs yesterday, one 7hrs overnight.) I found I didn't need the 64GB for what I am trying to do anyway. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hello all, first post here... cool forum! I bought the Mobius camera to use primarily as a timelapse camera used on long trips. I tested it without issue on a few short runs: 1hr, 2hr, etc...) On my first long trip I have had some issues though and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not so I thought I'd share.

...

First off I am using a 64GB Samsung Class10 card. This one to be exact: https://www.ebay.com/itm/281350385280 (Perhaps it is junk?)

First time issue:...

...

So based on what I listed above I am thinking in order of likely hood:
  • I need to wait a longer period during shutter off / camera off?
  • I need a different SD card.
  • Camera is malfunctioning.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

problem with Power On - Auto Record.

I found out that it's not a problem with Power On - Auto Record, but the 'Power-Off Disconnect'
When I turnoff the power supply (or remove the cable) the camera is shutting down, but doesn't save the last recorded file!
When I turnoff the camera using the button on the cam itself, is saves the last recorded file correctly.

Anyone with a solution?

If you do need to use your 64GB card then you could always try this solution...
The 64 Gb Kingston SDXC Card Works just fine in the mobius, and it loop and overwrite as it is is supposed to. :)

You just have to format the SD Card with SDformatter 4.0, using the settings FULL ( erase ) and format size adjustment ON.

I must admit that $18.99 seems somewhat cheap for a 64GB card, so it might be a fake!:(
Fakes show up everywhere so you might want to try verifying your card with H2testw :

My motion detection works only once and then shuts the camera off.

Settings: Power on Button OFF

Power on Delay FAST

Power off Standby: OFF

Motion Detection ON

Motion time out 60SECS.

Dear friends! Explain to me how to orient the Mobius in the car to make it a normal video, that is to capture the car's hood. What this requires cable and devices. I put the battery instead of a capacitor.
First use DVR without a screen and do not know how to orient.

Zax, first you should place the camera in the top of the windshield. you can buy 3 meters usb cable in order to do this.
if you have a laptop, connect the camera to the usb and after few seconds press the shutter button - it will "open" the camera to webcam mode.
then you can use one of the webcams software in order to view it. (you can use "amcap")
the orient the camera just like you want.
if you don't have a laptop, you can "trail and error".. place the camera and record few seconds. go back home and view the clip.. and on and on..
you can buy accessories in ebay or banggood:

Another option if you are unable to use a laptop or simply want something small and inexpensive to keep in your car is to buy an LCD monitor. These are generally available on places like eBay with a 4 or 5 inch diagonal screen and cost less than 20 USD.

Just lining it up level and square with the windscreen by eye is going to be pretty good

It's a start, however, it should be angled downwards, not level, so that roughly 60% of what's recorded is below the horizon, otherwise the sky will dominate the exposure & video will be underexposed. Example...

Yeah, this can work but it can also lead to disappointments and unexpected results where you end up kicking yourself because something important was out of the frame or things were a lot more crookedly aligned than you thought. And Russ makes an important point about aligning for the exposure as well. I use a 7" LCD monitor to align and aim my Mobius cams and I find it well worth the trouble.

Dashmellow , how could be used an Android smartphone instead of a LCD monitor for proper positioning a Mobius or to watch live what it ,,sees" (obviously via a cable , WiFi/bluetooth is impossible)

I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to ask about Android support for the Mobius as I don't own an Android device.

Try the program ExtCam Mobius AC HD of Google Play

I have a little problem I hardwired my mobius last week but it doesn't work as it should. I plugged it with a cigarette adapter and a 3 meter long cable. I also use the 20 Centimeter lens extension cable.

But most of the time it doesn't record anymore. And when it does it's starts recording and after a few seconds it stops.

When it's recording the video files often look like this:

Maybe somebody already head the same problem and can give me an advice

you inserted the cable the wrong way.
the cable need to be aligned perfectly.
remove the cable and reinstall it.
check the connection to the circuit board and the connection to the lens also.

and make sure that your cigarette adapter is giving 5V.
and 1A minimum.

Thanks nir I will try this tomorrow! My cigarette adapter is giving 5 Volts because I use it since 2 years for dash cams.

@Maris
Please start by explaining the TVs connections you have available and how you have connected the camera to the TV set.
The “VGA SVGA DB15 to S-VIDEO 3 RCA TV AV CONVERTER CABLE” you have bought on the internet won’t work for any TV set.
There are some special TV / Monitors providing the necessary VGA connector built-in additional analog PAL video input.
