That would make sense since the Street Guardian firmware was tuned to the real full higher quality specs hardware, and his unit is the below average corners were cut edition. You can't slap an iPhone 6 firmware on an iPhone 5S and expect the screen to grow in size.

Firmware is done to suit our hardware version, there are 3 variants, I can't guarantee results on either of the other versions, the early release version was the same as ours, the other two have some hardware differences

This is where your are wrong and where all confusion comes from your side. As mentioned earlier, Street Guardian has some different ( upgrade ) hardware elements and firmware is tuned up to give best results only with SG harware models.
You can buy an original Street Guardian product and only then compare to cheap generic B40 / A118 model.

that gives me an idea, I will put a mazda turbo rotary engine control computer in my mazda 6 and see if it can do 10 second quarter miles.

To make correct judgement you need to make side by side test of original product vs generic version, where tests are made at same time, mounted in one car, not in different light conditions, different cars.
Otherwise your judgement will be specualative.

our firmware works fine on some earlier versions of this product because the components we used were leaked to another buyer, the person responsible for doing that lost their job over a dumb decision
