VIOFO A229 Pro FIRMWARE

I just purchased and installed my first dash cam, the Viofo A229 pro last Friday and it’s been great so far. I just installed the firmware 231208;231207 but the Viofo app now shows max resolution of 1944p24 + 1944p24 there is no option of 2160P30 + 1440P30? The dash cam screen and in the dash cam resolution settings it does show 2160P30 + 1440P30. Is it a bug?

Rear camera video rotation issue

This bug is fixed in the latest version. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M0MJ7kOMNJxpDY9vUi04gJ-jDbdRAuwz?usp=sharing The FWA229P is for the A229 Pro front cam, and the FWA229S is for the A229 Plus front. The EthcamTxFW.bin is for the rear cam.

I just checked in my downloads that I did download the FWA229P for the front and the EthcamTxFW.bin. The problem is the dash cam and the app are displaying to different resolutions. The Viofo app shows max resolution of 1944P24 both cams and the dash cam shows 2160P30 +1440P30.

Not as of yet. We haven't had that many issues compared to iOS.

Is there a recommended program to format as FAT32 on macOS, and linux, given that the recommendation provided is for windows.

Personally I use Apple's Disk Utility application when I format the SD cards to FAT32, the option is named MS-DOS (FAT) but post format it lists it as MS-DOS (FAT32) and that seems to work for me. I suspect there is some terminal command (dd?) to do it, but that might not be useful for the majority of people.

You can use the built-in program on your macOS to format the card. Just select MS-DOS (FAT) in Disk Utility on Mac.

To be honest: I haven't looked at the menu yet.
I noticed only one thing: When updating with new firmware, all old settings are saved.

The phone app obviously needs to support the features added to the Dashcam. It will get released when it is ready, I guess.
