Why the recorded video clips don’t play? I am trying on the viofo app on my iPhone 11 Pro. Says error or something pls see the pics below

Have you tried playing the card directly in a computer? That would be my first step.

Phil

It could be you would have to DL the clip to your phone first, though i have seen other cameras being able to stream from the camera to the phone.
Maybe if there is a option in the camera to select wifi between 2.4 GHZ and 5.8 GHZ and you being on 2.4 GHZ

I assume you are connected to the camera alright, just the playback part that are messing up.
TBH i haven't tried playing a file on the A139 viofo camera i am testing, ill give that a try later today.

Could also be a glitch that have sneaked in when viofo tailored the APP for use with the A139 model thats the new one, or one of them at least.

O almost forgot it could also be a issue with a missing codec or something on your apple phone, it seem those always have a extra hoop or two to jump thru.
Would be interested in seeing the error MSG.

I don’t know what you mean WiFi 2.4 or 5.8ghz? I just turn WiFi on on my iPhone, turn the WiFi mode on camera ,open the viofo app. Doesn’t mention what ghz of WiFi or anything . I use iPhone 11 Pro with latest iOS . Not only I can’t play black videos on my iPhone sometimes the live view doesn’t come on as well. The WiFi app has horrible reviews. So I guess it is their app that is bad not the camera itself?

Haven’t tried yet even if it works on a computer it still is meaningless since I won’t carry computer around to show proof of the recorded videos when I need to. Should be from the phone

What happens if you press the download button in the top right of the screen and save the clip to your phone?
With the a139, I find I stop it recording while using the app but it restarts itself which then makes the app struggle, check the camera isn’t recording when you try to view.

The Wi-fi 2.4 or 5GHz should be an option in settings that you can select

If I download the file first on my iPhone it can take some time cos files can be large . I thought I could just view the recorded clips without having to download files on my iPhone to clog my phone memory space. I used to have anker brand dashcam called Roav by on my previous old car and it looked very similar to what I have now and I could easily view files on my phone with their app without having to download files on my iPhone. The only problem was that it was a battery dashcam not capacitor so I didn’t install it back on my new car.

wifi today operate on a range of frequencies, just like phones also do, and higher frequencies can carry a bigger data load.
The exchange for more data speed with higher frequency are transmission range loss. ( just none related general info )

Still i am pretty sure 2.4 GHZ should also be able to carry a stream at least with the level of the footage in question here.
Some times people with wifi issues and a apple phone have been advised to at least try another non apple phone, in which case it have often worked fine,,,,,, and yes i know not much of a help but if that work the issue are not with the camera but rather the phone or the App.
And then we come to the extra hoops for apple users, and this is where i bail out as i have a non flattering dislike for both wifi and Apple, so best for me to bow out graceful and hope someone else can fill in the blanks.

I was wondering are the issue there with both front and rear camera footage ?

That I really don’t know since I have bunch of recorded clips that I see on the app on my iPhone and I wasn’t able to watch any of them. I tried many clips and all says failed to load . Just an example below

With the A139 and using 5GHz Wi-fi on an iPhone 11, I find the 1 min videos download to my phone in a matter of seconds. Have you tried switching the Wi-fi to 5?
Also do you run any security or vpn apps on your phone? I wonder if something like that could affect it.

VPN do tend to mess things up, run into that problem myself a few times.

The reason I'd try the card in a computer is to solidly determine whether the cam is the problem or the app. If it works fine in a computer then you know for certain the problem is the app. I don't know I-phones but Android has several media players available; VLC player is a popular and good one and it probably has an IOS counterpart.

I'm almost certain this is an app problem, which is a shortcoming with many dashcam manufacturer based apps as there are numerous slightly different phones and one size does not fit all. The third-party media players are usually better for this anyway due to having more features with them. There should be something workable here but always best to do diagnostics from the start ;)

Have you changed the settings with respect to wifi. Go to settings, scroll down to wifi and select 5ghz-usually faster. If this does not work, connect using the 2.5Ghz option. This might make a difference. Also don't update firmware via app as it downloads an older version I think.

I don’t have vpn. I tried both 2.5 and 5 ghz WiFi in settings in camera and then trying playing the videos on my viofo app and neither settings allows me to watch play back videos. Can you look at the screenshots and let me know if my firmware are latest or that is causing the video play back issue?
