Correct.
I requested Viofo add “HDR text” in the text overlay of the Rear & IR Interior cameras just like the Front.
They can’t / won’t do it.

I find the cpl darkens the image and if you then give a negative EV value would that not darken the image even more?

I'm not interested in whether the picture will become darker or lighter with my settings.
I need to be able to read the license plates of oncoming cars at night. My settings help with this.
You can set any settings to your taste. And everyone has different tastes.

Driving with legal speed and A229 pro it is assuring car registration plates legibility at night in Europe when driving on one lane roads. Make some test with roads with at least 2 lanes.
You need to hang the Mini 2 lower, then everything will be clean. There is not enough time.

That is the perfect windshield to mount Viofo dashcams. Beta testers should have such cars.

Will not work...
Where I live, roads with two lanes in one direction are usually separated by a guardrail, like on the Autobahn.
And it’s not always possible to see the license plates of oncoming cars through the fence even during the day.
It's the same in the city. There is definitely something between the stripes.
Here is a screenshot with WM1 installed on the rear window. This is a road with two lanes in each direction.

You can test this situation in the cities.

Here is an example of such street. I uploaded two PNG images to preserve original video quality so you can zoom for the license plates and also to look for the registration plate of the gray Hyundai from left with both cameras.
